Surrey v Derbyshire at Woodbridge Rd – August 2nd

The finale of the Guildford cricket festival is on Sunday 2 August when Surrey play Derbyshire in a 50 overs match starting at 1030am.

Once again the junior section will be running the tea tent to raise funds for winter training. All offers of help in the tent and donations will be gratefully received. Please let Kate Perceval know if you can help (kperceval@mac.com) and drop off cake donations (bought or homemade) at the tea tent on the Sunday morning.

Junior Training and Awards Night

Junior Training has now finished for the season, sadly the rain prevented the last sessions going ahead. However, we are aware that there are still many games being played!

Therefore we would like to take this opportunity to invite you to the Junior Club Awards:

Friday 4th September

6-8pm

Woodbridge Road

There will be a BBQ & the bar will be open. It’d be great to see you all there to celebrate the season across all the age groups.

1st XI captains toughest challenge

There is never a good excuse in missing cricket on a Saturday! However, this Saturday Joe & I will be undertaking the 3 Peaks challenge with a twist. We will also be cycling the 500 miles between the mountains.

This self organised “adventure” is in support of Havens Hospices that make a real difference to terminally ill patients whether that be for hours or months. They also support families through an obviously very difficult time.

Congratulation to the U13s

County cup winners after their 42 run victory over Lingfield

Batting first the side got off to a tip and run opening partnership with Will leading the way retiring on 30. Freddie with 19 and Rob an unbeaten 33 kept up the momentum with good support taking them to 141-8.
Lingfield began slowly but a mid innings surge needed a breakthrough and Matty and Henry M with 2 wickets apiece helped by good catching and 2 smart stumpings ...

Natwest under 19 T20 Competition

This is the first season of the brand new Natwest under 19 T20 competition, and naturally Guildford are in it to win! It’s all you’d expect from 20/20 cricket, and we will be known as The Guildford Thunder.

Twenty nine sides throughout Surrey will take part, and each hopes to try and put on a 20/20 big bash experience.
