We are very pleased to announce that Alan Jenner has agreed to take on the captaincy for the 4th XI for the 2015 season.

Alan has been an honorary member of Guildford since 2010, enjoying watching his son Will play for the various colts’ teams and more recently the men’s 3rd and 4th XIs. Junior Training sessions

Junior nets will take place at the Indoor Sports Hall, RGS Guildford on the following Sundays:

January 25th, February 1st, 8th & 22nd, March 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd. Timings for each age group are as follows:

The sessions are taken by Junior Head Coach Matt Teale and are an excellent opportunity to improve technique and skills ahead of the summer, as well as bond with your teammates. We have the latest Schedule for Junior Training sessions here.

Pavilion re-development

A good number of members attended the Club on the 27th November to hear Surrey CEO Richard Gould outline Surrey’s part in the redevelopment of Woodbridge Road and their involvement at the ground in the future.

Richard assured all present that the County did not wish to pose a threat to the existing running of our club but saw the ability to train pre-season and on occasions during the season as a great benefit which would not impinge on Guildford’s activities. ...

GBF 2015 – Organising Committee

The annual Beer Festival run by the Club in July is our major fundraising project. We will start planning for the 2015 event in the Autumn. I am pleased to say that most of the hardworking Committee from this year will stay on but I would like to refresh the group with a couple of new people with new ideas. We meet monthly, always on licensed premises.

Guildford lift NatWest U15 Club Championship

Guildford dominated the finals of the NatWest Under-15 National Club Championship at Oundle School, Northamptonshire, on Monday.

Lead by captain Harry Wilkinson, they beat North Region Champions York in the last four before going on to overcome Dorset’s Parley in the final.

In the first of the morning semis, Guildford chose to bowl first against York in windy but thankfully dry conditions after the tail-end of hurricane Bertha soaked the pitches 24 hours earlier.
