The Club

About GCC

Guildford Cricket Club has a rich history. Since initially forming in 1866, and then re-forming in 1922 post war, the club has won many titles and produced many great cricketers

GCC is a founding member of the Surrey Championship, with the first XI currently competing in the Premier division. The club exists to foster community participation and membership is open to all. The development of young cricketers and elite players is a central ambition of the Club with several past players going on to represent England including Darren & Martin Bicknell, Ashley Giles, Rikki Clarke and most recently, Phil Salt, Ollie Pope, Will Jacks, Shoaib Bashir and Alice Capsey

Our Teams

We have over 300 playing members across the junior and senior section.

Our men’s first XI currently play in the Premier Division of the Surrey Championship and our first XI women in the Championship of the Surrey women’s league.

More widely, we have a further three Saturday league teams, a casual fifth XI, a women’s softball team, an Academy (U21) team, a Development (U19s) team and a vast programme of boys’ and girls’ junior cricket (ages 7-17).

More can be found out about all of these teams by visiting the relevant pages.

Annual Cricket Festival

Guildford is fortunate enough to host first class cricket annually. Each summer the Club hosts the Guildford Cricket Festival Week, when Surrey CCC play at Woodbridge Road. We also host the County women in a couple of their games.

In preparation for the Festival, the ground is transformed by the erection of corporate tents and seating for spectators.

Team

Everything is done as a team and for the team:
