The Eight Annual Guildford Beer Festival, 2017
The Eighth Annual Guildford Beer Festival took place at Guildford Cricket Club on Friday 2 June and Saturday 3 June 2017 at Guildford Cricket Club in Woodbridge Road. It was a huge success …
A record-breaking number of people attended the Guildford Beer Festival held at Guildford Cricket Club on Friday and Saturday 2 – 3 June.
Over 300 barrels of real ale, craft lagers and handmade cider were consumed. As a totally local event, all beers and cider were sourced from independent and micro-breweries within a 30 mile radius of Guildford. There were more than 100 different beers and ciders from 30+ breweries and producers.
James Faulkner, Chairman of the GBF Organising Committee said: “This was our most ambitious festival yet. We are delighted that despite being the largest ever, the event has kept its unique atmosphere, which so many people enjoy. It is fantastic the event keeps going from strength to strength. The feedback on social media and in person from those who attended has been universally positive.”
For the third year, the GBF had its own App. The App provided tasting notes on the different beers and enabled attendees to create their own personal list to try, and also to vote for the Beer of the Festival.
Live music was a hit
New to The Guildford Beer Festival this year were audition nights, held to choose some of the local musical talent who performed during our three sessions in the Anderton’s Music Tent. This year’s winners were The Sheratones who were our headline act on Friday night. Headliners Tom Worrall and his band and Sun House kept the crowd entertained with fantastic live music on Saturday.
