The Ninth Annual Guildford Beer Festival, 2018
The Ninth Annual Guildford Beer Festival took place at Guildford Cricket Club in Woodbridge Road on Friday 15 June and Saturday 16 June 2018. It was a great success!
Over 300 barrels of real ale, craft lagers and handmade cider were consumed. As a totally local event, all beers and cider were sourced from independent and micro-breweries within a 30 mile radius of Guildford. There were more than 120 different beers and ciders from 30+ breweries and producers.
Commenting on the Ninth GBF, James Faulkner (Chairman of the GBF Organising Committee) said: “This was our most ambitious festival yet. We are delighted that despite being the largest ever, the event has kept its unique atmosphere, which so many people enjoy. It is fantastic the event keeps going from strength to strength. The feedback on social media and in person from those who attended has been universally positive.”
For the fourth year, the GBF had its own App. The App provided tasting notes on the different beers and enabled attendees to create their own personal list to try, and also to vote for the Beer of the Festival.
Live music was a hit
This year’s winners of our Music Competition, Mountfield, were our headline act on Saturday evening performing in the Anderton’s Music Tent. Headliners Tom Worrall and The Ribs also kept the crowds entertained with fantastic live music during the other sessions on Friday & Saturday.
