Disapprovingly, construction delays mean that the new Pavilion will not be handed over until early October.
The building contractor and Guildford Borough (which owns the freehold of The Sports Ground under a charitable trust) remain committed to ensuring that the building will be completed to a very high standard and will be a superb facility for Guildford CC Members and the local community.

The last formal junior training was 28 July and Sunday 30th for the U8s.
The nets can still be used but players must be supervised by an adult at all times and must wear the appropriate safety kit. However, Senior Training takes place on Thursday evenings and Women’s Training on Wednesdays, so best to avoid those times.

The U15s travelled to Spencer and with 40 from Matty and a creative 26 from Harry totalled 123-9. The Under 15s were first into action winning their ECB cup match against Blackheath at a canter – Blackheath 96-5 in 20 overs, G 99-0 in 11 with an unbeaten half century from Will.
The U12s opened with a tense last over victory in their Two Counties match against Farnham but the U9s fell short against Frensham.

The good weather has meant that all the early season friendly matches have been completed. The 1st XI won at Basingstoke and Dorking, but lost narrowly at Beckenham. The Surrey Championship league fixtures start next Saturday, 6th May with local derbies. The 1st XI travel to newly promoted Cranleigh, with the 2nd XI at home against Cranleigh.
