Junior Cricket
Guildford Cricket Club's objective is to promote, organise and encourage amateur cricket of the highest standard in the Guildford area. The Club exists to foster community participation and membership is open to all. The development of young cricketers in central to what the Club is about.
Guildford offers a vast programme of junior cricket, which is supported by excellent facilities, and a junior coaching programme delivered by ECB qualified coaches. The Club is also committed to maintaining its ECB Clubmark accreditation, and its Focus Club status.
The junior coaching programme is managed and delivered by our permanent coaching team: ·
Junior Head Coach - Sanjay Kher, interim, shortly to be Matt Teale (Guildford's overseas player) ·
Lead coaches - Alex Nash and Rob Jones ·
Coaching assistants Tom Bancroft, Ben Walter, Jack Cunningham and Chris Weill
The Club provides cricket for juniors aged 7 and above, with coaching sessions held at the Club’s main ground, Woodbridge Road, as follows: ·
U7 to U13 - Sunday mornings from 10am – 12pm ·
U15 and U17 - Friday evenings from 6pm – 8pm
The Club also participates in the U18 and U21 Surrey Trust Leagues, which provides juniors with the opportunity to play with established adult members, and acts as a stepping stone to adult cricket

Guildford CC’s Club Ethos sets out what the Club expects of players and how players should conduct themselves. The Junior Section Club Ethos operates in tandem with the Club Ethos and is designed to help juniors and their parents be aware of their responsibilities to each other and to their Club

The Junior Section Club Ethos provides a guidance (Section 4) on factors that team managers will consider when selecting teams. In the event that juniors or parents have a grievance with regard to selection or any other matter, the Junior Section Complaints Procedure sets out how such grievances should be addressed. Any appeal to the final decision of the Junior Section Chairman should be made to the Club Secretary, who will address the matter in accordance with the Club's constitution.
